2 top 100 recruits remain in 2025. Can Michigan football land Ty Haywood on NSD?

There are two remaining players ranked inside the top 100 of 247Sports’ Composite rankings for the 2025 recruiting class. Does Michigan have a shot at landing either player?

Four-star offensive lineman Ty Haywood and four-star edge rusher Zahir Mathis are the lone two unsigned players of the class, and they’re both still uncommitted, as well.

Haywood, from Denton, Texas, was originally committed to Alabama but opted to not sign during the early signing period before decommitting on Jan. 13. The 6-foot-5 offensive tackle has “warm” interest in Michigan and Florida State, according to 247Sports’ Composite rankings.

Florida State also appears to be in on Mathis, who has three “warm” schools in Maryland, FSU and UCLA, according to the recruiting service. He doesn’t appear to be a Wolverines target.

Here are Michigan’s chances at landing the two still available players with National Signing Day on the horizon:

Will Michigan land Ty Haywood?

Haywood took a visit to Michigan on Jan. 17, four days after decommitting from Alabama. Haywood hasn’t taken another visit since.

The No. 25-ranked player in the class would provide a massive boost to the Wolverines already strong offensive line class that includes five-star offensive tackle Andrew Babalola.

The Denton Ryan High School product has taken visits to Michigan, Florida State, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Alabama and TCU, according to 247Sports.

Michigan seems to be firmly in the race for Haywood, although there are no current predictions by 247Sports.
