Five-star edge Anthony Jones, who also goes by the nickname “Tank,” has already signed with the Oregon Ducks as part of the 2026 recruiting class. But the Ducks, coincidentally enough, are also in the running to sign another defensive lineman by the name of Anthony Jones.
This Anthony Jones, out of Crean Lutheran High School in Irvine, CA, is a three-star according to 247 Sports Composite and the No. 53 defensive lineman and No. 479 player nationally.

Jones was originally committed to UCLA, but went back on his commitment after head coach DeShaun Foster was fired. He ended up re-committing to the Bruins, but didn’t sign in December and decided to part ways with the new coaching staff that came in.
Now, after taking official visits to Oregon and Wisconsin, Jones is down to those two programs. His announced commitment date is Wednesday, Feb. 4.
“I think what stands out about Oregon is the incredible amount of resources on and off the field they have there to be successful,” Jones told Rivals’ Greg Biggins after his third visit to Eugene. “The players and coaches have a great bond and you can see the relationships there are genuine. Coach Tui (Tony Tuioti, DL coach) is a great coach and someone I’ve known for a long time. He sees the potential in me and said he wants to be able to show that and develop me and put that on full display.”

If Jones were to commit to Oregon, he’d join a talented group of defensive lineman in the 2026 class: five-star Tank Jones, four-star Tony Cumberland, four-star Prince Tavizon and three-star edge Dutch Horisk.
