The Atlanta Dream couldn’t get over the hump and suffered a close 80-79 defeat against the Seattle Storm on Thursday. Seven-time All-WNBA Nneka Ogwumike did a lot of the damage with her 24 points, seven rebounds, two assists and three steals. The nine-time All-Star shot 60% from deep to lead the Storm to their 11th win of the 2025 WNBA season.

For the Dream, three players finished the game in double digits, led by nine-year veteran guard Jordin Canada. Canada had 25 points, five rebounds and five assists, including four steals. She was the only player for Atlanta to finish the game with at least 20 points.

Brionna Jones came close with her 18 points and 10 rebounds. Jones added four assists and made 64.3% of her field goals. The frontcourt star also recorded her eighth double-double of the season. Allisha Gray added 12 points, 11 rebounds and four assists.

Jones wasn’t the only player for the Dream to have a historic night. Canada also made history as she recorded a new career-high. According to a post on X, the two-time WNBA champion has recorded her third double-digit scoring game in a row on Thursday.

“Jordin Canada has set a new career-high in points with 23. The Atlanta Dream floor general and two-time WNBA Champion has recorded double-digits in three consecutive games,” the Dream posted.

Despite the loss, the Dream is still in an ideal position in the standings. They have an 11-8 record following the loss.

This season, Canada appeared in 10 games as a starter. She’s averaging 7.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 4.4 assists. Throughout the year, the two-time All-Defensive player has had seven games where she scored in double digits.

The next game for Atlanta will be on Sunday, against the New York Liberty. The Dream has played against the defending champions once this season and came away with an 89-79 win.
