4-star Georgia football commit is on ‘flip watch’

by

Four-star Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver commitment Vance Spafford is on “flip watch”, per Rivals. Spafford, who is a member of the class of 2026, has been committed to Georgia since Nov. 2025.

The four-star receiver plays high school football for Mission Viejo High School in California. He’s considering flipping, according to Rivals, and may want to stay closer to home.

The 5-foot-10, 175-pound wide receiver has taken recent visits to the UCLA Bruins and USC Trojans. Spafford is the No. 41 recruit in the 2026 cycle. The four-star is the second-ranked slot receiver in the nation and the No. 10 recruit in California.

Rivals notes that “it’s going to be tough to flip him away from the Bulldogs”, but UCLA and USC are trying their best. USC has hosted Spafford on multiple visits and is pushing hard to get him to change his commitment.

Georgia football recently lost a significant commitment in four-star cornerback Jontavius Wyman, who flipped to the Miami Hurricanes. Georgia has five commitments in the class of 2026 and Rivals ranks Spafford as Georgia’s top commitment.
