A group of high school football recruits made their way to Gainesville this weekend to get a glimpse of the Florida Gators during their spring practice season.
One of those who made the trek down to the Swamp on Saturday was four-star interior offensive lineman Sean Tatum, a 6-foot-4-inch, 319-pound prospect out of Fort Pierce (Florida) John Carroll in the 2027 cycle. He also attended Florida’s Junior Day back in January, and since then has kept in regular contact with offensive line coach Phil Trautwein.

“We’ve been talking a lot, daily check-ups and stuff like that,” Tatum told Swamp247 prior to his April visit. “We’ve been talking about my track meets and stuff, and seeing how I’m going to do.”
After this Saturday’s stop on campus, Tatum said, “The people are great, of course, and Coach Traut is an amazing coach.”
Last weekend, the blue-chip lineman made an unofficial visit with the Miami Hurricanes, after which he named UM the leading school among his suitors. His official visit schedule this summer features his top four preferred programs, with Miami slated for the weekend of May 29, followed by Florida (June 5-7), the Tennessee Volunteers (June 12-14) and Auburn Tigers (June 19-21).
Sean Tatum’s commitment date
“My commitment date is July 18,” Tatum told On3. “Of course, that’s a little far… It’s a possibility (the date could move up). The only reason I did it on that day is because I wanted time to think about my decision. But if I’m firmly stamped down on where I want to go, then I can definitely make it earlier.”
