There is renewed energy in the basketball program at Texas A&M University. The Aggies, under new head coach Bucky McMillan, are generating buzz. While the Buzz Williams era certainly had its share of ups and downs, the energy McMillan brings to the program seems contagious.
The Aggies will have their hands full as members of the SEC. Last season, Texas A&M finished 23-11 overall and 11-7 in conference play. They even won a game in the NCAA Tournament, but it wasn’t long after that Williams departed for Maryland.

McMillan arrived in College Station with a 99-52 career record and led Samford to the 2023-24 NCAA Tournament.
His energetic style is already attracting new additions to the roster. One of the latest is coming from across the state: Federiko Federiko, who is transferring from Texas Tech.
The 6-foot-11 forward from Finland has played three seasons of college basketball — the first two with the Pittsburgh Panthers, followed by a year with the Red Raiders. Last season, he started six games, averaging 5.1 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.

His final appearance for the Red Raiders came in their Elite Eight loss to Florida, where he played 17 minutes, scoring four points and grabbing two rebounds. In the previous game against Arkansas, Federiko tallied seven points and nine rebounds in 13 minutes of play time.

The addition of Federiko marks the ninth new player to join the Aggies this spring. Earlier this week, Marcus Hill announced his commitment to the program. Other notable additions include 6-foot-11 power forward Zach Clemence from Kansas, and Jamie Vinson, also out of Texas.
Meanwhile, six players from the 2023-24 roster entered the transfer portal, with four choosing to follow Williams to Maryland.
