The Los Angeles Lakers made two moves on Thursday that allowed them to nab University of Arkansas wing Adou Thiero, who was taken with the No. 36 pick in the NBA draft. Their decision to acquire his draft rights is seen as a win by plenty of experts across the basketball world.
The Lakers also went ahead and signed Eric Dixon, a big man who went undrafted, to a two-way contract. Dixon, who is 6-feet-8 and 265 pounds, spent five years in the NCAA with the University of Villanova, and he led the nation in scoring this past season with an average of 23.3 points a game.
Dixon isn’t a great rebounder or defender (he grabbed 5.6 boards a game for his college career), but he can certainly score. He shot 40.7% from 3-point range on 7.2 3-point attempts a game and 45.1% overall this past season, and for his college career, he made 38.7% of his attempts from downtown.

He earned First-team All-Big East honors for the 2024-25 campaign, and he also attempted 6.1 free throws a game while making 81.3% of them. He attended Abington Senior High School in Montgomery County, Pa., which is where one Kobe Bryant spent a good chunk of his childhood.
