by

Alabama football‘s run in recruiting over the past month has been nothing if not impressive.

Since the beginning of June, Alabama has gone from five players in its 2026 recruiting class to 17 hard commitments. The latest came on Wednesday in five-star receiver Cederian Morgan from Benjamin Russell High School in Alexander City. Morgan chose the Crimson Tide over Auburn, Georgia, Florida, Clemson and Colorado.

Morgan is the top prospect in the state of Alabama and the No. 2 receiver in the 2026 class, according to both 247Sports and On3. His commitment to Kalen DeBoer and the Crimson Tide followed those of five-star EDGE Xavier Griffin, the nation’s No. 1 ranked linebacker who committed on June 29, and five-star running back Ezavier Crowell on June 26.

Four-star recruits in tight end Mack Sutter from Dunlap, Illinois, offensive lineman Samuelu Utu from Orange, California, and quarterback and Iowa State flip Jett Thomalla also committed to Alabama within the past month.

Haubert said of Alabama’s recent haul:

“It took some time for Alabama’s class to find its footing, but an active June brought the Tide into the mix among the top classes in the country. They kept one of the top running backs in the class at home by signing Ezavier Crowell, an aggressive runner who possesses good power and vision.

“The defense is benefitting from some big pickups, including pulling several ESPN 300 defenders out of Georgia. Xavier Griffin has a lengthy and broad frame to develop and can get up field and bend the edge.”
