The WNBA recently honored several players around the league.

After the month of June, the WNBA announced the players of the month both conferneces and the rookie of the month, showcaising the top talent.

On Thurdsday, the WNBA revealed that Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers had been named the Rookie of the Month for June.

“No. 1 Draft Pick in May,” posted the WNBA. “@Kia Rookie of the Month in June. Paige Bueckers delievered some performances worth remembering during her second month as pro, capping off June with 21.6 PPG, 4.1 RPG and 5.0 APG.”

Dallas Wings head coach Chris Koclanes shared the news with Bueckers during practice. Bueckers then responded, giving credit to her teammtes.

“Wow,” Bueckers said. “Thank you guys. It’s all because of you.”

“A quick smile from the Rookie of the Month by day & nonchalant boss by night,” posted the official social media account of the Dallas Wings.

Paige Bueckers was drafted to the Dallas Wings with the No. 1 overall pick and has certainly delivered, despite the pressure.

During her rookie season with the Wings, Bueckers has posted 18.4 points, 4.4 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game.

While Paige Bueckers has been succesful in her rookie season with the Dallas Wings, the team has struggled to find any sort of consistency.

Dallas sits at 5-13 on the season, the No. 12 team in the WNBA.

Bueckers and the Wings will return to game action against the Phoenix Mercury on Thursday night, looking to spark a win streak.
