Texas A&M’s 2026 edge class includes five-stars Bryce Perry-Wright and Tristian Givens, and four-stars Jordan Carter and Samu Moala, who are all firmly committed to the Aggies, while three of the four, outside of Perry-Wright, have shut down their recruitment this summer. Right now, this looks like a complete group, but after missing out on five-star DL Lamar Brown and four-star edge KJ Ford, one name has emerged as a potential commitment/flip candidate.
On Saturday, it was revealed that 2026 four-star edge Jaquez Wilkes will announce his commitment on Monday, July 21, and will choose between Auburn, Miami, Alabama, Florida State, and Texas A&M, where he has taken official visits to each program over the past two months, including College Station on June 13. Wilkes has not received a prediction to land with either program thus far, but Alabama and Auburn appear to be the likely leaders.

However, five-star edge and fellow Alabama native, Anthony “Tank” Jones, who is choosing between Alabama, Oregon, and Texas A&M, is slightly leaning towards the Crimson Tide, which could alter Wilkes’ decision. Still, this is early in the process, and either play could flip down the stretch before Early Signing Day. Texas A&M is not a favorite to land Wilkes on Monday, but it will likely make him a priority prospect if Jones commits to Alabama.
Wilkes is currently an off-ball linebacker who is utilized as a pass rusher, and will need to adjust to the speed of the college game once he chooses and signs with a program, similar to most versatile edge/defensive line prospects. Right now, I predict Wilkes will commit to Auburn, but don’t count the Aggies out this fall, especially if Anthony Jones commits to Alabama or Oregon.
