Michigan State starting quarterback Aidan Chiles has been named a “rising star” by one particular media outlet.
The Athletic has released a list of potential “rising stars” quarterbacks in college football, with the Spartans’ signal caller being included on the list. The article from The Athletic had five quarterbacks from the Big Ten on the list, with Chiles joined by Ohio State’s Julian Sayin, Washington’s Demond Williams Jr., Nebraska’s Dylan Raiola and Michigan’s Bryce Underwood.

Chiles is entering his second season as the Spartans starter, throwing for 2,415 yards, 13 touchdowns and 11 interceptions during his first year. He also ran for 225 yards and three touchdowns last season.
Chiles’ numbers during his first year as the starter weren’t particularly impressive, but the experience and progression during the second half of the season is what excites many (including myself) about his future. Additionally, he has all of the tools to be an NFL quarterback one day, and this year he will be working with better weapons around him to help even further progress his game.
Chiles and Michigan State will officially open the 2025 season on August 29 against Western Michigan. Kickoff from Spartan Stadium is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET, with the game set to be televised on FS1.
