Undefeated Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Middleweight contender, Khamzat Chimaev, finally gets his chance at UFC gold, colliding with defending division champion, Dricus du Plessis, in the main event of UFC 319 this weekend (Sat., Aug. 9, 2025) inside United Center in Chicago, Illinois.
Chimaev’s custom UFC 319 fight shorts are a tribute to his Chechen heritage. The shorts feature a nice blue and gray color scheme with prominent wolf graphics, including a pair of howling wolves on each side, symbolizing his nickname “Borz,” which means “wolf” in Chechen.
The design also incorporates the blue mountains of Chechnya as a backdrop, emphasizing his cultural roots
For what it’s worth, video of “Borz” trying on his new shorts leaked online, and it seems like he doesn’t like the length of them, so it seems like Venum might need to do a little hemming prior to smeshing.
Nevertheless, Chimaev joins an elite group of fighters with custom fight shorts, including Jon Jones, Ilia Topuria, Max Holloway, Merab Dvalishvili, Alexander Volkanovski, Alex Pereira, Paddy Pimblett, Valentina Shevchenko, and Khalil Rountree, among a few special others.
