Will LSU host ESPN’s College Gameday in Week 3?

by

LSU football still has a Week 2 game vs. Louisiana Tech to get through, but some fans have already started looking at next week. LSU is set to host Florida in Week 3 as it opens its SEC schedule. According to the US LBM Coaches Poll, the LSU vs. Florida matchup is currently ranked in the top 15.

LSU vs. Florida is one of three ranked games on the Week 3 slate. Georgia at Tennessee and Texas A&M at Notre Dame are the other two. The Notre Dame game has a strong case for Gameday, LSU vs. Florida is the ABC Saturday Night game, and Notre Dame is playing on NBC. Gameday isn’t afraid to travel to games not on ESPN or ABC, but it probably helps that LSU vs. Florida is an ESPN product.

On top of that, there’s plenty of momentum surrounding LSU. After a Week 1 upset of Clemson, the Tigers are in the thick of the national title hunt. The atmosphere in Baton Rouge next week will be the best in the country.

College Gameday’s last trip to Baton Rouge came in November of 2024 — a day LSU fans want to forget after getting blown out by Alabama.

LSU will likely be favored vs. Florida next week, but the spread will be close. It has all the makings of a College Gameday appearance.
