Matches To Make After Noche UFC 3

by

Noche UFC 3 went down last night (Sat., Sept. 13, 2025) inside Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas, which saw Diego Lopes ice Jean Silva with a devastating spinning elbow knockout (see it again here). In the co-main event, David Martinez secured a huge win over long-time veteran, Rob Font, while Rafa Garcia scored a blistering technical knockout win over Jared Gordon (see it here).

Winner: Diego Lopes
Who He Should Face Next: Yair Rodriguez

Woof! Lopes silenced Silva (and his team) after a bitter lead-up to their fight, knocking him out in round two of their main event bout to put him right back into the championship picture. That said, Lopes will probably have to sit back and wait to see Lerone Murphy try to dethrone Alexander Volkanovski, which means he will likely have to take another fight in the interim. Also, Movsar Evloev is still lurking in the shadows, so I wouldn’t mind seeing Lopes take on Yair Rodriguez. The two men have a bitter feud, as well, and “El Pantera” feels he is due for another title fight. Let’s book them against each other to see who takes a big step toward that goal.

Winner: David Martinez
Who He Should Face Next: Raul Rosas Jr.

Martinez won his ninth straight bout — second inside the Octagon — after pulling off a nice upset over Font. “Black Spartan” took the fight on short notice after Raul Rosas Jr. bowed out with an injury, so why not reward Martinez with that fight? It would be a great bout between two surging stars, and since Martinez did UFC a solid, he should get a nice reward for it. Rosas Jr. is currently on a four-fight win streak.

Winner: Rafa Garcia
Who He Should Face Next: Chase Hooper

Garcia won his second straight to improve to 4-1 in in his last five fights under UFC’s banner with a highlight-reel stoppage over Gordon. He has some ground to cover if he wants to crack the Top 15, but if he can book a fight and get a win over someone like Hooper it would help his case. Hooper is coming off a tough loss at the hands of Alexander Hernandez at UFC 319, which snapped his five-fight win streak.

Winner: Kelvin Gastelum
Who He Should Face Next: Michel Pereira

Gastelum avoided disaster following his massive scale fail, securing a convincing win over Dustin Stoltzfus, his first win in 2025. Gastelum needs to get his act in order for his next bout because should he fail to make weight once more, I don’t see the promotion being so forgiving again. It might sound like an odd booking, but putting him up against Pereira wouldn’t be a bad idea. Pereira is currently mired in a rough stretch, having lost three straight, including his most recent knockout loss at the hands of Kyle Daukaus last month.

Winner: Alexander Hernandez
Who He Should Face Next: Drakkar Klose

Hernandez notched his second technical knockout win in less than one month after destroying Carlos Diego Ferreira. Hernandez has now won four straight inside the Octagon, his longest win streak with the promotion. Up next, a fight against Klose sounds like fun. Klose is on a decent run himself by going 5-1 in his last six fights inside the Octagon. He is coming off unanimous decision win over Edson Barboza at UFC 319.
