American Heritage (Fla.) quarterback Dia Bell has announced on X that his 2025 high school senior season is ending “due to an unexpected, minor procedure.”

Bell is a Texas commit, and is the No. 12 recruit on the USA TODAY Football Recruiting Rankings for the class of 2026. He is the third ranked quarterback.

Bell didn’t disclose more detail about the procedure. The 5-star quarterback was the Florida Gatorade Player of the Year last year after throwing for 2,597 yards and 29 touchdowns while completing over 70 percent of his passes. His season was cut short by a leg injury in the state playoffs.

This year, after two games, he had thrown for 540 yards and four touchdowns with 0 interceptions. He also had 98 rushing yards.

In his social media post, Bell says he will be 100 percent healthy and ready to roll when his freshman season begins at Texas next year.
