ESPN’s Saturday morning pregame show, “College GameDay,” is a staple for many college football fans each weekend. The pregame show will be headed to Tuscaloosa this week for the No. 17 Vanderbilt Commodores and No. 11 Alabama Crimson Tide in Week 6. Perhaps, surprisingly, this will be GameDay’s first show from Alabama‘s campus since late September of last season.
In all likelihood, the Alabama-Vanderbilt game was the show’s second choice, with the Miami at Florida State being the No. 1 option. However, after the Seminoles’ unexpected Week 5 loss to Virginia, the show seems to have pivoted to Alabama-Vanderbilt, the only other ranked game on the slate.

Last week, GameDay attended Penn State’s Whiteout game against Oregon, which turned into a thriller, with the Ducks ultimately securing a 30-24 win in double overtime. A Big 12 school has yet to host GameDay or be featured in one of its five matchups with Texas Tech at Arizona State in Week 8, seeming like the most likely option.
Nick Saban, Kirk Herbstreit, Rece Davis, Desmond Howard, and Pat McAfee serve as college football experts for GameDay, with a celebrity guest picker also chiming in.
GameDay’s coverage will begin at 9 a.m. ET on Saturday, Oct. 2, from Alabama’s campus and will be televised on ESPN.

Where will GameDay go in Week 7
Indiana at Oregon, Ohio State at Illinois, Oklahoma at Texas and Alabama at Missouri all project as intriguing ranked matchups next week. The Red River Rivalry between two top-10 teams in Oklahoma and Texas seems like the obvious choice, but Eugene will be rocking when Indiana comes to the Pacific Northwest. It is a toss-up between the two.
