Injury Report: MSU football without key starters in secondary at Nebraska

by

Michigan State linebacker Wayne Matthews III will be back in the Spartans‘ lineup against Nebraska on Saturday, but they will be without a couple of key starters in the secondary.

The official injury report has been released for Saturday afternoon’s game between Michigan State and Nebraska, and Matthews was not included on the report — which would suggest he’ll be playing. But, Michigan State will be without starting safety Nikai Martinez and starting cornerback Ade Willie, who were both officially ruled out.

Matthews experienced a scary injury in the Spartans’ last game at USC that resulted in him being transported to the hospital. But he has been practicing all week and was trending towards playing.

Losing Martinez and Willie will be notable for the Spartans, who’s secondary hasn’t been great to begin with. This will be an area to monitor during this matchup.

The full injury report for both the Spartans and Cornhuskers can be seen in the post below:

Kickoff from Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Neb. is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET. This game will be televised on FS1.
