After hovering in the teens for a few weeks, the Hawkeyes have shot up to No. 9 in ESPN’s rankings, a six-spot jump from their previous spot, No. 15. This climb is in parallel to Iowa’s upward mobility in the Coaches Poll.

9. Iowa Hawkeyes (16-2)

Previous ranking: 15

Next seven days: @ Maryland (Jan. 22), vs. Ohio State (Jan. 25)

Senior forward Hannah Stuelke is coming off perhaps her best week of the season, as the Hawkeyes beat Oregon (74-66) and Michigan State (75-68). Stuelke had a combined 40 points, 17 rebounds, 13 assists and 5 steals while shooting 65.4% from the field. Sophomore center Ava Heiden also stood out with a combined 33 points and 15 rebounds. – Michael Voepel, ESPN

Tied atop the Big Ten with a perfect 7-0 record in conference play, the Hawkeyes’ schedule starts to test them during the next stretch of games. Iowa makes a trip to Maryland to take on the Terrapins on January 22, in a matchup that will air nationally on NBC. After that, Iowa returns home for a test against the Ohio State Buckeyes on January 25, inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

Should Iowa navigate that, they end January and begin a stretch against West Coast Big Ten Teams, USC on January 29, and UCLA on February 1.
