The Iowa Hawkeyes stay hot on the recruiting trail, already building for 2026, 2027, and beyond. After the transfer portal chaos of players coming and going, the focus has turned back to the traditional recruitment of high school talent, an area in which the Hawkeyes have consistently thrived under head coach Kirk Ferentz.
The latest news on the Iowa recruiting trail turns its focus to the Chicagoland hotbed of talent, where the Hawkeyes are looking to bolster their future offensive attack with a recent offer.

The Hawkeyes have extended an offer to Jake Nawrot, a quarterback out of Hersey High School in Arlington Heights, Illinois. During his 2025 high school season, Nawrot was 187-263 (71%) for 3,078 yards and 41 touchdowns to just two interceptions. He added 124 rushing yards and eight scores on the ground.
Jake Nawrot, the 6-foot-4, 190-pound quarterback, is part of the class of 2027. He is currently ranked as the No. 10 prospect in Illinois, the No. 25 quarterback in the class, and the No. 370 overall prospect, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
With Iowa getting in the mix, Nawrot now holds offers from Boston College, Duke, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Northwestern, Oklahoma State, Purdue, Rutgers, Miami (OH), and Toledo.
