LSU basketball kept it rolling on Thursday night, handling Arkansas for its sixth straight SEC win. The Tigers are 20-2 on the year and 6-2 in conference play.

LSU’s resume is strong enough to contend for a No. 1 NCAA Tournament seed down the stretch, but the schedule doesn’t get much easier with games vs. South Carolina and Texas still on the slate.

Elsewhere in the SEC, Mississippi State delivered one of the more shocking SEC results we’ve seen this year, beating No. 15 Tennessee bt 15 points to give the Vols their first conference loss of the season. MSU’s Kharyssa Robinson shone with 21 points and four rebounds. It was a tough loss for a Tennessee team looking to stay atop the SEC.

Alabama got the best of Georgia in a ranked battle. The Tide were down eight after the first quarter, but fought back for a 68-53 win.

At 6-2, LSU remains in position to win the regular-season conference title. With South Carolina still on the schedule, LSU controls its own destiny. Beat the Gamecocks and handle business elsewhere, and the Tigers likely finish with the best record in the SEC.
