Georgia women’s basketball sophomore guard Dani Carnegie had her second lowest scoring game of her career on Thursday night in the 68-53 loss to Alabama.
Carnegie was held to two points in the first half, and ended the night overall with six points, shooting 3 of 12 from the field. She’s ranked No. 2 in the SEC for 3-pointers made, but made 0 of her 6 attempts against the Crimson Tide.

“They were switching everything so she couldn’t get the ball,” Georgia coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson said of Carnegie. “They were switching one through four and a lot of her sets, if Mia’s not screening for her because she’s the five, so that’s pretty much it. She’s a winner, she’ll be ready (for next week). She’s always ready.”
Carnegie’s lowest scoring game of her career was when she only posted five points against South Carolina as a freshman with Georgia Tech. She leads the Lady Bulldogs with an average of 18.9 points per game, scoring every game in double figures, and even eclipsing 30 points twice — 32 vs. Ole Miss and 31 vs. Arkansas.
Carnegie finished with four rebounds, three assists, one block, three steals and four fouls in 31 minutes against Alabama.
Despite her lower scoring numbers, Georgia outscored Alabama by 3 points with Carnegie on the floor. In the first half, they outscored the Tide by 13 with her on the court but were minus-16 when she was on the bench.
