South Carolina has some of its players from the 2023-24 season still on its roster. Raven Johnson won her second championship that season, with Chloe Kitts, Tessa Johnson and Adhel Tac winning their first.
When the Gamecocks were making their historic run two seasons ago, ESPN was filming the documentary series “Full Court Press” on then star center Kamilla Cardoso. That also provided a behind the scenes look at the undefeated season.

The hour and 16-minute long documentary will “trace the 50-year rise of women’s hoops to coach Dawn Staley and her champion South Carolina Gamecocks,” from “early pioneers to today’s sellout run,” the website states.
It’s set to star Staley, South Carolina women’s basketball legends A’ja Wilson and Aliyah Boston, in addition to UConn coach Geno Auriemma, and former players Rebecca Lobo and Sue Bird. Women’s basketball icons Lisa Leslie and Sheryl Swoopes are voices in the documentary as well.
UConn beat South Carolina in the 2025 national championship and since 2000, has won 11 titles.
