MM 2.3: Maryland track and field closes out strong at Penn State National Open

Maryland track & field finished the weekend strong, recording three top 10 performances on the second day of the Penn State National Open.

Two Terps won their respective events Saturday. Freshman Naaema Robinson finished first in the 200 meters with a time of 24.07 seconds — that’s good for third-best in program history. Sophomore Annika Metzger also had a sensational day, winning the 1,000 meters with a time of 2:51.90 — that time ranks sixth-best in Maryland history.

Among other strong performers, Eva Rogers ran the 3,000 meters in 9:35.15 for a top 10 finish and sixth-best time in program history. Jasmine Sharps also earned a career-best in the 200 meters with a time of 24.88 seconds.
