MSU football officially holds onto commitment, signs 4-star WR Samson Gash

Michigan State football’s highest ranked commitment has officially signed to become a Spartan.

Four-star wide receiver Samson Gash of Novi, Mich. made it official on Wednesday, signing with the Spartans as part of National Signing Day. Gash has been verbally committed to Michigan State since last summer, but elected to not sign with the Spartans during the early signing period to evaluate the new Michigan State coaching staff before making his final decision. Ultimately, Michigan State was able to come out on top, beating out late pushes from Penn State, Georgia and West Virginia.

Gash has a recruiting rating of 90.80 in 247Sports composite system, and ranks as the No. 43 wide receiver in the class. He is also listed as the No. 6 player from Michigan and No. 283 overall prospect in the 2026 class.

Gash is rated as the top prospect in the Spartans’ 2026 class, according to 247Sports. This is a major win for new head coach Pat Fitzgerald and his staff to retain Gash’s commitment. He’s an in-state prospect that received attention from a number of elite programs so being able to add him to the Michigan State football program is huge.
