After Penn State lost out on the signature of Kemon Spell yet again, they lost out on another star recruit…this time to a Big Ten rival.
Four star wide receiver Samson Gash officially announced on Wednesday that he would be be joining the Michigan State Spartans. The Michigan native certainly made the Spartans sweat, as he had been verbally committed since June of last year, but ended up not making it official until the early signing period to see how the new MSU staff would look.

The Nittany Lions did end up making a late push for his services, hoping that his father having been a Nittany Lions would help them in their pursuit. He also did officially visit Penn State’s campus last month, but did not end up being swayed by it, putting pen to paper in East Lansing rather than in Happy Valley.
Gash was once the most highly ranked wide receivers in the class at No. 46 at the position. He was also ranked the No. 283 player overall in the class. He most importantly is tied with offensive lineman Collin Campbell for the highest rated recruit in the Spartan’s 2026 recruiting class with a 90 rating according to 247Sports. He had also received offers from Alabama and West Virginia amongst other schools.
