The Iowa football team continued to work on its 2027 recruiting class on Tuesday.
The Hawkeyes currently have three commits in their 2027 class, but Iowa has offered a ton of impressive talent over the past few weeks to try to add to that. This was evident on Tuesday night when a versatile three-star prospect announced an Iowa offer.

Three-star Justin Johnson took to X on Tuesday night to share that he’s received an official offer from Kirk Ferentz and the Hawkeyes.
Johnson is from Evanston, Ill., and plays his high school ball at Evanston Township. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound athlete plays on both sides of the ball, but many project him to play defensive back in college. Johnson is also a star track and field competitor, another sign of just how athletic he already is.
He’s a highly coveted prospect, holding 12 Division I offers, including from a horde of other Big Ten programs. Illinois, Michigan State, Minnesota, Northwestern, Rutgers, and Washington are all in the battle for Johnson’s recruitment at the moment, with the Hawkeyes the latest conference team to join the fray.

Per 247Sports, Johnson is the No. 10 player in the state of Illinois.
Johnson can play all around the field, has an ideal frame, and the high school production to boot. This would be a big get for the Hawkeyes if they can land Johnson’s talents and add him to a small for now, but incredibly mighty 2027 class.
