No. 9 Ohio State women’s basketball (20-3) is set to start a two-game stretch on the West Coast with a matchup against No. 24 Washington (17-5) in Seattle on Feb. 5.

Following the addition of four new Big Ten teams, the Buckeyes made their first trip out West last season and struggled, falling to top-10 ranked UCLA and USC.

Ohio State Buckeyes guard Ava Watson (5) goes in for a layup against the Wisconsin Badgers in the second half of the NCAA basketball game at Value City Arena on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2026 in Columbus, Ohio.

While the Buckeyes are going into their upcoming games against Washington and Oregon as the favorites, they’re still expecting the next four days to have their challenges.

“It’s going to be a tough trip. Both Washington and Oregon are good,” Ohio State coach Kevin McGuff said. “They play especially good at home. And the thing is that’s different about this trip is in LA, you land there and you just bus around. Now you’re flying in between Eugene and Seattle.”
