Iowa women’s basketball (18-5, 9-3 Big Ten) has seen tremendous numbers from both senior forward Hannah Stuelke and sophomore center Ava Heiden so far in the 2025-26 season. As a result of their terrific play, both Hawkeye stars have been named to prestigious midseason Top 10 award watch lists.
Stuelke was named to the Katrina McClain Power Forward of the Year Top 10 Midseason list, an award that recognizes the nation’s top power forwards in women’s college basketball each year, as voted by both the Basketball Hall of Fame’s Naismith Starting 5 committee, in collaboration with the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association.

Stuelke averages 14.0 points, 8.6 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game on 54.5% shooting from the floor through 23 contests. The 6-foot-2 native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, also leads the team with six games with 20 points or more this season.
Heiden, a 6-foot-4 native of Sherwood, Ore., was named to the Lisa Leslie Center of the Year Top 10 Midseason list.
Heiden, who is having a sensational sophomore season as the primary option down low for the Hawkeyes, is leading the team in scoring with 16.7 points per game on 63.2% shooting. The Oregon native is also averaging 7.3 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game.

The final five candidates for the awards will be released on a day-by-day basis starting the week of March 16, with voting set to follow on March 20. The winner of each award, as well as presentation details, will be announced towards the end of the season.
Iowa’s next contest will be against No. 25 Washington (17-6, 7-5 Big Ten) on Feb. 11, at 6:30 p.m. (CT) from Carver-Hawkeye Arena, with the game streaming on B1G+.
