MSU football makes top schools list for high-level Ohio OT prospect

by

Michigan State football is one of 10 schools still in the running for a high-level offensive lineman prospect from Ohio.

Reed Gerken of Perrysburg, Ohio recently released his top 10 schools list and the Spartans are in the mix. Gerken is an offensive tackle in the 2027 class, and included the following teams in his top 10 schools list: Michigan State, Tennessee, Kentucky, Wisconsin, Virginia Tech, Stanford, Arkansas, NC State, Cincinnati and Pitt.

Gerken is listed as a high-end three-star prospect in the 2027 class, according to 247Sports. He ranks as the No. 38 offensive tackle and No. 14 player from Ohio in the class. He is also listed as the No. 442 overall prospect in the class.

Gerken recently visited Michigan State and during that visit he picked up his offer from the Spartans. It’s clear that Michigan State is making moves in his recruitment and should be in the mix until the end if things continue down the path they are going. We will continue to monitor his recruitment over the next few months as he continues to narrow the list of schools he is considering.
