Wisconsin football is a finalist to land two class of 2027 prospects: defensive lineman Josh Johnson and offensive lineman Reed Gerken.
Johnson, first, included the Badgers along with Nebraska, Florida, Miami, Georgia Tech and Iowa. 247Sports currently ranks the three-star prospect as the No. 735 overall player in the class, the No. 78 defensive lineman and the No. 78 recruit from the state of Florida.

Gerken, next, included Wisconsin in his list of 10 finalists. The other nine contenders are Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia Tech, Stanford, Arkansas, NC State, Michigan State, Cincinnati and Pittsburgh. The Perrysburg, Ohio, native is also listed as a three-star recruit. 247Sports ranks him specifically as the No. 442 player in the class, the No. 38 offensive tackle and the No. 15 recruit from his home state.
Wisconsin’s class of 2027 currently ranks No. 25 nationally with three players committed. Notably, all three of those early pledges are from in-state prospects: four-star tight end Korz Loken, three-star safety Dustin Roach and three-star offensive lineman Ethan McIntosh.
Expect the class of 2027 recruiting headlines to pick up now that the 2026 cycle has concluded.
