Cornerback is one of the prominent strengths on the Oregon Ducks roster heading into the 2026 offseason, as true freshman Brandon Finney Jr. and Na’eem Offord and sophomore Ify Obidegwu had strong seasons and are all coming back. But that’s not to say that Ducks head coach Dan Lanning and his staff haven’t been busy to continue the influx of young talent at the position.
On Monday, Jaden Carey, a four-star cornerback in the 2027 class, released a list of the final seven schools that he’s considering in his recruitment. Oregon was included alongside Ohio State, Florida, Auburn, Notre Dame, Miami and Ole Miss.

Carey is ranked as the No. 38 cornerback and No. 356 player nationally, per 247 Sports Composite. He competes for St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, FL, where he’s the No. 36 player in the state.
Standing 6-foot and 165 pounds, Carey had over 20 offers from various conferences but has settled on seven schools, with the Ducks in the running to further add talent and youth to the cornerback room.
Thus far, Oregon has yet to secure the commitment of a cornerback as part of their 2027 class, though they had added four-star edge Cameron Prittchet and three-star linebacker Sam Ngata on the defensive side of the ball.
