Tennessee is back on the road tonight, set to visit Starkville and play one of the league’s worst teams. Mississippi State is 3-7 in SEC play, sitting just one game above a tie for last place. The Bulldogs have dropped seven of their last eight games, posting a 1-4 SEC record at home so far.
The Volunteers appeared to be rolling along to their fifth straight win over the weekend when a familiar situation played out. Tennessee, armed with a big lead on Kentucky in the first half, let the Wildcats come storming back to steal another win. The loss drops Tennessee to 6-4 in SEC play with work to do to claw back into the regular season title picture.

Tennessee is getting everything out of star freshman Nate Ament, but can’t seem to find any real consistency in big spots to put around him. Rick Barnes needs more out of guys like Ja’Kobi Gillespie, Jalen Carey and JP Estrella for this group to truly contend.
They’ll get another chance to get things right tonight.
