Tennessee basketball projected for in-state NCAA Tournament matchup

Tennessee (17-7, 7-4 SEC) has seven basketball games remaining in the 2025-26 regular-season.

The Vols have four home and three away contests remaining in regular-season play: LSU, Oklahoma, at Vanderbilt, at Missouri, Alabama, at South Carolina and Vanderbilt.

The SEC Tournament will be contested March 11-15 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.

Selection Sunday for the NCAA Tournament is scheduled for March 15, while the First Four will take place March 17-18 and the first round will be contested March 19-20. The Final Four is scheduled for April 4-6 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.

On Friday, USA TODAY Sports released updated bracketology.

Tennessee is projected a No. 5 seed and would play No. 12 seed Belmont in the first round at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina. The winner would advance to play either No. 4 seed Virginia or No. 13 seed UNC Wilmington in the second round.
