Penn State has officially set a date for its annual spring football weekend, putting to ease any concerns about any drastic changes to one of the school’s top draws of the offseason. Although details about a Blue-White Game have not been outlined just yet, the official Penn State football social media account has announced a date for Blue-White Weekend.
Penn State announced its’ Blue-White weekend will take place the weekend of April 25, the last Saturday of the month. Penn State typically has one of the largest crowds for a spring football game or open practice in the nation, so it stands to reason Penn State will still hold a fairly standard end-of-spring practice event where fans can come into Beaver Stadium. The stadium is still undergoing renovations, but it recently hosted an outdoor hockey game with over 70,000 fans coming out to brave the elements for some hockey.

Late April tends to be a bit hit-or-miss with the weather, but this would be the first time fans would get to come out and see a completely re-worked roster under a brand new coaching staff, assuming Penn State sticks to its typical spring game festivities to some degree. Penn State has made an event out of the annual Blue-White Game with a carnival and using the spring game as an opportunity to showcase other sports that may still be in-season.
As noted in the social media announcement, Penn State will announce more information about the Blue-White weekend at a later time.
The Blue-White Game has typically served as Penn State’s 15th and final spring practice session of the offseason, and the timing of this announcement suggests that will still be the idea. For now, we will wait to learn more when it becomes available.
