DALLAS — Louisville basketball walk-on Will Hanke surveyed the empty bleachers at SMU’s Moody Coliseum with less than two hours until tipoff Tuesday night.
“I’ve heard it gets pretty loud in here,” he said.

That wasn’t an issue when Pat Kelsey and the Cardinals visited Dallas last season. Chucky Hepburn and Reyne Smith’s record-setting performances stole the show; but UofL cruised to a 98-73, wire-to-wire win by holding the Mustangs to 6-for-29 shooting during the first half.
Tuesday, though, was a different story. No. 21 Louisville (19-7, 8-5 ACC) got outgunned in a good old-fashioned Texas shootout, 95-85, to snap a five-game winning streak. And the SMU fans let them hear about it all night.
The Mustangs (18-8, 7-6) shot 58.5% from the floor and 47.4% from 3-point range.
Up next for Louisville: the penultimate home game of the season, a 2:15 p.m. tipoff Saturday against Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets, who host Virginia on Wednesday, started the week at 11-15 overall and were tied for last in the ACC at 2-11.
