Weitzeil, Michael Jensen Announce Birth of Baby Boy

Abbey Weitzeil Jensen and Michael Jensen announced the birth of their son on Wednesday. Liam Konrad Jensen was born on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2026.

The couple posted the details on social media with a message: “Welcome to the world, we are obsessed.”

 

Weitzeil is a three-time U.S. Olympian and most recently was a relay medalist for Team USA in Paris in 2024. She also competed in 2016 and 2021 in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and relays both in Rio and Tokyo. The couple married after the Games and she has not returned to competition yet, though has not announced a retirement.

She is a three-time Olympian and six-time Olympic medalist, most recently part of the gold-medal mixed medley relay. Weitzeil was a multi-NCAA champion at Cal and held the NCAA record in the 50 free.

Jensen also was an NCAA champion at Cal, in the 200 free relay in 2019. He was a 14-time All-American for the Golden Bears and part of a family of swimmers at Cal.
