With nine commits and the nation’s third-ranked recruiting class per 247Sports, Ohio State’s 2027 class has more than just a solid foundation thus far. Plenty of work to still be done, we’ve seen the coaching staff making treks all over the country the past few weeks checking in on their top targets, and that includes offering new names as well.
Visits getting lined up by many of the top prospects on the board, the Buckeyes are looking to bring in their typical impressive guest list in the coming weeks — and that includes both national and in-state options.

Buckeyes still interested in 2027 WR
Though Ohio State has had a change in position coach, the Buckeyes are showing their continued interest in a top 2027 receiver target, as Cortez Hankton re-offered Pennsylvania native Khalil Taylor on Wednesday. A player that was also on Brian Hartline’s radar, Ohio State’s thoughts remain the same even with the change in leadership.
A 5-foot-11, 180 pound athlete, Taylor is the No. 65 player nationally and 14th best receiver in the country per the 247Sports Composite. A product of the Pine-Richland powerhouse, the Buckeyes are no stranger to his prep program, and with recent success having signed 2026 cornerback Jay Timmons from the same school.
Offers from nearly 30 programs including the likes of Georgia, Florida State, Indiana, Notre Dame, Oregon, Penn State, and plenty of others, the Buckeyes are looking to remain in consideration. Early on, Penn State holds the lone Crystal Ball prediction for his eventual commitment, but Ohio State and Hankton have other plans in place to have him thinking elsewhere.

With spring practice coming, look for the coaching staff to get Taylor on campus. If they are successful, the Buckeyes will be in the mix for the long haul. When it comes to development, Ohio State is atop of the college landscape, and whether they have a new position coach or not, you have to like their chances of appealing to top players at the spot.
Ohio State expecting multiple visits from 2027 OL target
Three players committed along the offensive line for Ohio State’s 2027 class to this point, the Buckeyes really are off to a strong start with Tyler Bowen leading the charge. The goal to continue adding elite talent and depth to their already impressive haul, however there’s plenty of top players they are still working on and that includes Colorado native, Jackson Roper.

The No. 239 player nationally and 13th best interior lineman per the 247Sports Composite, Roper isn’t a new name to Ohio State recruiting. A player the Buckeyes offered last September, Jackson hasn’t been shy about his interest in the program and that included a successful November trip to Columbus this past season.
Keeping Ohio State in the forefront of his mind it seems, Roper has plans not only to visit again this coming spring, but is also planning a second trip for the summer months as well. Slated to be on campus for spring practice on April 10, he is also planning to give Ohio State an official visit in June.
What would be three visits in about eight months, you have to like the chances the Buckeyes have at being the final destination, as many times the visits show where a player is prioritizing. Offers from 30-plus schools and from the likes of Alabama, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Oklahoma, Oregon, USC, and others, Ohio State sits in good position right now.
