Indiana football head coach Curt Cignetti, once again, has a new contract.
Cignetti and Indiana Athletics have agreed to terms on the details of a contract that runs through 2033, the same length as his previously agreed to deal from October. That contract gave Cignetti an average annual compensation of $11.6 million and contained a clause that would trigger a good faith review to boost his compensation into the top-3 nationally should Cignetti reach a College Football Playoff semifinal. Indiana accomplished this with a blowout 38-3 win over Alabama in the Rose Bowl.

Now, with his new contract, Cignetti’s average annual compensation has risen to $13.2 million per year, per reporting from The Indianapolis Star. Cignetti is now one of three coaches whose annual compensation exceeds $13 million alongside Georgia’s Kirby Smart and LSU’s Lane Kiffin. With full terms in mind, it’s possible that Cignetti is now the highest paid college football coach in the country.
