2 SEC schools trying to flip 5-star Georgia QB commit

The Georgia Bulldogs have a commitment from five-star quarterback recruit Jayden Wade, who is a member of the class of 2028. Wade is the No. 1 recruit in his class.

The five-star is a long way away from signing with Georgia. The Bulldogs and coach Kirby Smart will have to hold off numerous suitors to keep Wade. Georgia has not done a good job keeping their five-star quarterback commitments in recent years.

The Bulldogs had a commitment from five-star quarterback Jared Curtis in the class of 2026. Curtis ultimately ended up flipping to the Vanderbilt Commodores ahead of the early signing period. Georgia additionally had a verbal commitment from Dylan Raiola in the class of 2024. Similar to Curtis, Raiola flipped to the Nebraska Cornhuskers at the last minute.

IMG Academy’s Jayden Wade looks to pass

On3 reports (subscription required) that Wade is planning to visit other schools and will consider other programs. However, Wade confirms that he is “locked in with Georgia” despite considering other options. The two other programs that stand out to Wade are Tennessee and LSU. It appears that Wade will visit both of those schools in the future, but he doesn’t have anything scheduled yet.

Wade has been committed to Georgia since Nov. 2025. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound quarterback plays high school football for IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Wade is only a rising junior in high school, but he’s a candidate to reclassify to the 2027 recruiting cycle. He played varsity football as an eighth-grader and would be ranked among the top passers in the 2027 class should he reclassify. Wade is the No. 1 quarterback and the top recruit in Florida in the 2028 recruiting cycle, per 247Sports.

Wade has a big arm and good speed. He’s an athletic quarterback that plays against an elite level of competition. He passed for 20 touchdowns and two interceptions during the 2025 season. The UGA commit added 243 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns. He recently visited Georgia in late January.
