LSU women’s basketball gained ground in the latest edition of the AP poll, released Monday. Head coach Kim Mulkey’s team took advantage of shakeups around the country by taking care of its own business.

The Tigers are up one spot to No. 6 in the most recent poll. They defeated Ole Miss, which fell two spots to No. 19, in Oxford Thursday then handled Missouri at home Sunday. The wins come a week after South Carolina defeated LSU.

UConn, UCLA, South Carolina and Texas maintain the top four spots, respectively. Michigan vaulted up to No. 5, its highest ranking of the season, followed by No. 6 Vanderbilt. Louisville, Oklahoma and Ohio State round out the top 10.

The last week of the regular season commences this week. LSU remains home to host No. 21 Tennessee on Thursday, then travels to Mississippi State for an afternoon tipoff Sunday. Should they win both games, the Tigers should hold onto the No. 4 spot in the conference standings and clinch a double bye for the SEC Tournament.
