As March officially welcomes in the most exciting month of college basketball, where did the NCAA Selection Committee rank Iowa women’s basketball in its latest Top 16 reveal?
As a reminder, the Selection Committee projected in its initial Top 16 reveal on Feb. 14 that the Hawkeyes (24-5, 15-3 Big Ten) as its No. 11 overall seed and as a No. 3 seed in the Fort Worth 3 Regional, which would have them hosting the NCAA Tournament’s first two rounds from Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

As a result of Iowa’s four straight wins since the initial reveal, the NCAA Selection Committee has elevated the Hawkeyes to its No. 6 overall seed and listed the Hawkeyes as a No. 2 seed in the Sacramento 4 Regional as part of the March 1 rankings.
The three other top seeds in the Sacramento 4 Regional are Texas (1), Oklahoma (2), and Michigan State (4).
By virtue of the Big Ten’s cluster of dominant programs this season, the conference holds five additional spots in the latest Top 16 reveal alongside previously-mentioned Iowa and Michigan State.
