Cameron Boozer added a few “tiger stripes” to his resume Monday night.

The Duke freshman standout showed off visible scratch marks on his right arm during the second half of the top-ranked Blue Devils’ 93-64 rout of NC State, briefly exiting the game as blood trickled just below his shoulder.
The wounds were the result of physical play as NC State attempted to slow one of the nation’s top freshmen. However, Boozer didn’t appear bothered.
“We call them tiger stripes,” ESPN analyst Corey Alexander joked on the broadcast. “That’s all that is. A little battle wound. Shows that you put in a hard day’s work, as he laughs it off.”
True to form, Boozer was smiling on the sideline while trainers cleaned up the scratches. He quickly returned to the floor and helped Duke close out its dominant ACC performance. The Blue Devils secured the ACC regular-season championship with the win and now turn their attention to rival North Carolina inside Cameron Indoor Stadium.

As for Boozer, Monday was simply another complete performance. The 6-foot-9 freshman finished with 26 points on 8-of-10 shooting, adding nine rebounds and four assists. He committed just one turnover as Duke finished with only seven giveaways as a team.

NC State coach Will Wade even deployed zone looks in hopes of disrupting Duke’s rhythm, but Boozer continued to find space and attack. NBA scouts are already circling his name ahead of the draft, and nights like Monday only reinforce why he is viewed as a potential top-three selection.
Battle scars and all, Boozer continues to deliver. Can he take Duke on a deep tournament run?
