The WNBA season is still a couple of months away, but women’s basketball is already entering its first crescendo with Kelsey Plum and Phantom BC making the 2026 Unrivaled championship.
The 31-year-old guard for the Los Angeles Sparks played a huge role in the Phantom’s 83-75 win over Vinyl BC. She was unguardable throughout the match, finishing the night with an impressive box score of 31 points on 12-for-19 shooting, six rebounds and five assists.

While Plum wasn’t the only player who scored in double digits (Tiffany Hayes scored 19 while Kiki Irafen bagged 17 more efficiently), there’s no question about who is leading the team to the finals. She’s played so well this season that the team gave the four-time WNBA All-Star a new nickname.

Phantom BC Calls Kelsey Plum ‘Playoff Plum’ in Instagram Comment
Unrivaled and Phantom BC collaborated on an Instagram post that celebrated Plum’s big night in Brooklyn. While there were plenty of comments on the image expressing their admiration for the veteran point guard, it was Phantom BC’s comment that garnered attention from hoops fans.

“PLAYOFF PLUM HAS ARRIVED,” they commented on the post.
A commenter under the post agreed with the declaration. “She’s a balla for sure,” they wrote.
Another follower suggested an equally cool nickname for her. “KillaPlum,” they commented, which was followed by a string of emojis.
It’s not surprising to see Plum perform at the biggest stage, as she’s been the floor general to two WNBA championship squads during her stint with the Las Vegas Aces. It wouldn’t be surprising to see more of the same heroics from her come the championship.
