Brescia University’s women’s basketball team was runner-up in the River State Conference Tournament.
The Bearcats will still advance to the NAIA Women’s Basketball National Tournament for the first time in 18 years, according to the school.

The NAIA national tournament draw will be Thursday, March 5.
Brescia lost to Rio Grande 83-64 in the River States Conference championship game on Tuesday. Rio Grande was No. 8 nationally.
Hailee Johnson and Brooklyn Stewart were the only two Bearcats in double digit scoring with 17 and 13 points, respectively. Johnson also added seven rebounds to her stat line.
Brescia is 24-7 on the season.
