Change at the Top as Indianapolis Leads CSCAA Division II Poll
The March edition of the CSCAA Division II poll brought a change at the top, with Indianapolis jumping Drury by two points.
On the women’s side, Tampa remains ensconced in the top spot, though its margin over Nova Southeastern was a slim five points in the polls released this week.
Indianapolis was second in February, but they hopped over Drury by two points, with 245 in the latest poll to Drury’ 243. Tampa remained third at 232, followed by Colorado Mesa. McKendree jumped two spots to fifth, with Grand Valley and Wingate each sliding.
Lynn holds eighth this month, with Florida Southern and Northern Michigan each leaping three spots to ninth and 10th, respectively. Delta State leaped from 24th to 18th.
The top seven are unchanged among the women, with Tampa’s 243 points leading Nova Southeastern’s 238 and Colorado Mesa’s 236 at the summit. Drury, West Florida, Indianapolis and Grand Valley held their positions. Delta State and Catawba moved up to eighth and ninth, respectively, with Wingate sliding to 10th.
The committee for the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America poll, made up of Division II coaches, evaluates and ranks the nation’s top 25 dual meet teams based on several factors. These include head-to-head dual meet results, performances since the last rankings, season-long achievements, dual meet records, roster changes (such as injuries), and data from the SwimCloud simulator. It is important to note that the poll is not intended to predict top finishers in a championship meet format.
