CSCAA Dual Meet Poll: Virginia, Texas Atop Final Standings
Virginia’s women’s team and the Texas men finish the season where they started it: Atop the CSCAA Dual Meet polls.
Each team got the maximum points in the poll released this week, Texas with 400 on the men’s side and Virginia at425 on the women’s.
The top four on the men’s side is unchanged from last month, with Arizona State second, Indiana third and Florida fourth. California jumped Stanford for fifth in the final poll. NC State and Tennessee are each up a spot, with Georgia down to ninth.
Michigan leapt two spots to 10th, hopscotching rival Ohio State. Virginia Tech, from 21 to 15, is the big riser in the final rankings.
On the women’s side, Virginia has been outtouched at the top spot all year. The top five is unchanged this month, with Stanford, Texas, Michigan and California following. Tennessee leapt three spots to tie Indiana for sixth. Louisville, NC State and Florida round out the top 10.
The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America poll is voted on by a committee of Division I coaches who evaluate and rank the nation’s top 25 dual meet teams. Considerations include head-to-head dual meet results, recent performances since the previous poll, season-long outcomes, dual meet records, roster changes (such as injuries), and data from the SwimCloud Simulator. It is important to note that the poll is not intended to predict championship meet finishes.
