Lakshya Sen’s run at the All England Open ended in heartbreak as he suffered defeat in straight games in the final to Lin Chun-yi of Chinese Taipei in Birmingham on Sunday.
Lin came out on top 21-15, 22-20, securing his first Super 1000 title in 57 minutes.
The 24-year-old was playing his second All England Open final, having previously reached the same stage in 2022. He lost the 2022 final to Denmark’s Viktor Axelsen.
It also puts him alongside his mentor Prakash Padukone, who reached the final twice, in 1980 and 1981, winning the title in 1980.
