Purdue fans abroad lamented the coaching decision to bring back the Quarterback, Ryan Browne for another season to start.
Coach Odom doubled down in the off-season, essentially naming him the starter before a down of Spring Ball, something that has become uncommon in the era of the transfer portal.

While the incumbent at QB did not have great success last fall, who did? But, with the new transfer portal rule with only a portal month in January, Purdue has plenty of time to build rapport on offense and so far, they seem to be ahead of schedule.
With rolling with Browne at Quarterback, this allowed the Purdue offense to hit the ground running, surrounded by new weapons and an improved offensive line, the Purdue Offensive Staff appear much more confident about the fall already.
Defensively, the change at the Coordinator position brings a new voice, but the scheme should not be a total overhaul with Coach Odom and his Defensive background, he should have a lot of say on that side of the ball.
Manny Correa returns to lead the defense that, similar to the offense, appears to be much improved on all three levels after the first week of the spring practice schedule.

Understandably, fans are hesitant going into the summer and fall of Purdue Football, but with the single transfer window, that can only help a program that is focused on building culture from the ground up.
Purdue will practice three times again this week before heading off for spring break.
