USC women’s basketball players earn additional Big Ten honors

by

Last week, USC women’s basketball’s Jazzy Davidson was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year. With this being just USC’s second year in the conference, she is the first Trojan to ever win the award.

However, this was not the only postseason honor for Davidson. In addition, she was named first team all-Big Ten, as well as to the conference’s all-defensive team, and a unanimous all-freshman team selection.

Davidson was also not the only Trojan to earn such honors, as she was joined on the all-defensive team by Kennedy Smith. Finally, Kara Dunn was also named to the all-Big Ten second team.

Despite an impressive Big Ten awards showing, the Women of Troy were unfortunately not able to translate it into more team success in the conference, as they finished just 9-9 in Big Ten play and lost their conference tournament opener. The good news, however, is that the Trojans will have an opportunity to make up for all of that in the NCAA Tournament, which begins next week.
