Highlights! Bella Mir wins national title at NCAA women’s wrestling championships

“Lady” Mir is a national champion.

No. 2 seed Bella Mir, daughter of former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Heavyweight champion Frank Mir, upset No. 1 seed Reese Larramendy at the first-ever NCAA Women’s Wrestling Championships to capture the NCAA national title at 145 pounds this past weekend (Sat., March 7, 2026) inside Xtream Arena in Coralville.

Mir, who wrestled for North Central College in her final opportunity to claim a national title, scored an early takedown on Larramendy, who represented the University of Iowa. Later in the opening period, Mir executed a beautiful reversal that led to her pinning Larramendy’s shoulders to the mat for the win.
